Edelrid Perlon Rope Display
Edelrid Mountaineering point of purchase display from approximately 1968. This display allowed the customer to get a good feel for the product and the true size of each cord. The largest size offered was a beefy 11.5 milimeter.
Edelrid pioneered the use of thinner diameter ropes used in a double-rope system. At the time, “thin” meant 9 millimeter and not the 8 or 7 millimeter sizes of today. They made a high quality and dependable product priced reasonably for most climbers.
Nice web page! Enjoyed roaming around, reading descriptions, and looking at many pictures. Thank you for sharing all of this. I have been actively collecting since 1973. My collection is no where as big as Marty’s, I have been a lot more focused – Chouinard, Clog, Holubar, and a little of Dolt. We do need to connect, you will want to see some of what I have.
Good Morning!
It’s been a little while. I’m still full time with Patagonia at the Nashville store. I am starting a Facebook group called Chouinard Equipment Collectors. You are one of the first people that came to mind. Please look it up and join in, I would very much value your thoughts as I’m putting this together. I’m hoping to take this to a Supertopo level – back when they still had all the photos. Perhaps at some point this may want to move over to another platform – for now, I’ve got to start somewhere! Looking forward to hearing back from you!
