1962 Charlet-Moser Hammer
Superb workmanship and a rugged design made this hammer a great tool for pitoncraft, drilling, and general mountaineering use. It has a good feel with just the right balance of weight between the head and handle. The pick is short and specialized for rock work with just a couple shallow teeth on a fairly blunt nose. Its handle is long and solid feeling allowing the user to get a good reach while testing or placing gear.
Included in the gallery of photos is a detail from a page in the 1962 Gerry catalog showing the model and a great price of $6.95. That’s $57.30 in todays dollars.
You have a great website. I wish more people would create sites to show their collections.
Please add me to your blog
Thank you Mr. Chessler! I very much appreciate the compliment. Hi praise coming from a fellow historian.
