1928 Sporthaus Jungborn Catalog
This catalog showcases many items the modern mountaineer would recognize. There are pitons, carabiners, rappel rings, and hammers that look a bit like the types we still use.
Sporthaus Jungborn seems to have been well stocked with everything needed for a fine mountain holiday. This is the complete catalog.
Hi
Have you ever heard of the Haseney Karabiner? I think these date back around this time, and might be an early development in carabiners. Hope to hear if you have any insight.
Cheers

John,
I’m not familiar with the Haseney Karabiner. Was it an oval or a modified shape? I have many Marwa kidney shaped carabiners and some early “ear shaped” carabiners which may have been hand crafted in Chamonix in the 20s-30s but they lack markings.
I have some pictures, can you send me your email? Mine is deuce4@bigwalls.net
