Originally purchased in 1972 by Ray Brooks, this DOLTSEAT belay seat has made appearances in several Supertopo vintage gear discussions. I recently acquired it from Mr. Brooks and would like to thank him for his commitment to preserving climbing history.
The stitching on this seat is best described as “artistic”. For being 45 years old the stitching and webbing is still tight and functional. The body of the seat is still strong and free of rips or snags. I guess “DOLT-TEX” was bomber stuff!
