The Ski Hut sold camping, climbing, and general outdoor equipment from their location in Berkley, California. Many of the notable figures of 1950’s and 1960’s southern California climbing probably passed through their doors for gear or just a chat about the latest climbs.
This catalog is in great condition for its age! Ski Huts 1953 selection of climbing equipment was not very large but reflected the needs and available goods at of the time. The fact that they offered bolting supplies speaks to the eras focus on aid climbing and the need for artificial anchors on the Sierras often smooth or featureless granite walls.
