I’m not sure of when Jeff Lowe and Wayne Goss were in business together as Mountain Gear Incorporated. Jeff Lowe’s online biography doesn’t list the partnership but does cover his move to Colorado in the late 1970s. A recent Men’s Journal article about outdoor equipment manufactures mentions that Goss and Lowe suggested Bluewater Ropes begin making a climbing specific rope sometime in the early 1970s. Whether this speaks to a business or climbing partnership at that time isn’t clear.
